Weʼre raising £4,350 to Participate in an Expedition to Costa Rica in 2020; community development work, environmental projects and wildlife conservation.

Story

My name is Samuel Wright and I’m a student of Cardinal Griffin Catholic College in Cannock Staffordshire, I play rugby for Stafford Rugby club under 16 and at county level and I’m also currently undertaking my gold DOFE. I am participating in an Expedition to Costa Rica in 2020; this will be a 4 week expedition and will include community development work, environmental projects and wildlife conservation. It will also include scuba diving and the chance to experience local culture and to change the lives of the local community of Costa Rica as well as myself. To be able to participate in this expedition, to have the chance to be involved in the local community development, environmental as well as wildlife conservation to be able to change the lives of the local community. I’m looking to undertake fundraising and acquire sponsorships to raise a total sum of £4,350.00.The core objectives of this expedition are to undertake projects in order to:

• Raise the educational standards of developing communities within a rural district of Costa Rica.
• Raise the living standards of developing communities within a rural district of Costa Rica.
• Assist with ongoing wildlife conservations programmes to preserve biodiversity and protect vulnerable habitats

This expedition is really important to me because I feel that I will acquire and develop many important life skills, my ability to work as part of a team, problem solving, and communication and to have a life-changing impact on the local community of Costa Rica as well as myself. I’m really looking forward to the community projects that I will be working on and the fact that it will help demonstrate skills and give me experiences to pull from and memories to enjoy and reflect on forever.
